ELECTRICAL ESTIMATOR
DCI Electrical Services (WA) PTY LTD offers maintenance and construction services to a diverse range of sectors in numerous geographical locations. We are actively seeking an Electrical Estimator with strong experience in the construction, building or mining industry to join our team at the Morley office.
The Position:
Reporting to the Operations Manager your primary responsibilities will involve the preparation and delivery of cost estimates and technical proposals for tender submissions. Your role will involve interpreting and reviewing drawings, specifications, and meeting deadlines, and liaising and negotiating with suppliers, subcontractors, and project managers to ensure client needs are met.
Aspects of the job will include, but are not limited to:
- Preparing and reviewing cost estimates and technical proposals
- Interpreting and reviewing scope of drawings, specifications, quantities and duration dates
- Preparing tender submissions and reviewing tender documentation from clients
- Evaluating, commenting and reviewing proposed terms and conditions of projects
- Performing risk assessments on tenders/projects to determine financial risks
- Liaising and negotiating with stakeholders to ensure the project terms and deadlines are met
The successful applicant will have:
- Working rights in Australia
- Qualification in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, trade background, and/or appropriate experience in the construction, building or mining industry
- Experience in rail signalling is highly recommended
- Sound technical knowledge
- Proficient in planning and organising projects and working to deadlines
- Able to read and understand plans thoroughly and identify mistakes or problems
- Experience developing highly detailed estimates and quotes
- Strong computer skills
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work unsupervised or in a team environment
